What’s the Difference Between a Canoe and a Kayak?

A canoe is a lightweight open boat propelled with a single-bladed paddle. At Cap Ardennes Events, we offer 2- or 3-seater canoes, ideal for calm and stable rides on the lake — originally inspired by Native American designs.

A kayak has Inuit origins and is maneuvered with a double-bladed paddle. Our single-seat kayaks feature a twin-tunnel hull for improved stability and effortless paddling.

  • September:
    • Saturday & Sunday: 1:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Rental Conditions

Before paddling on Vieilles Forges Lake, please review our rental rules designed to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all:

• Swimming Skills: You must be able to swim at least 25 meters and submerge underwater. A reasonable level of fitness is required.
• Minimum Age: Children must be at least 6 years old and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
• Safety: Certified life jackets are mandatory for all participants and are provided by our team.
• Payment Policy: Each hour started is due in full. Once confirmed, rentals are non-refundable.
• Rules: By renting our equipment, you agree to follow all safety guidelines and staff instructions.
• Equipment Return: All rented items must be returned in good condition at the end of your session.

Important: A valid ID is required for all rentals. Please ensure you bring it with you for a smooth check-in process.
